2026 Season Opener Landing Report: April 1

What a way to kick off the 2026 season! Mother Nature was on our side today with amazing weather, providing glass-flat seas and clear blue skies that felt more like mid-summer than early April. Between the bites, the galley stayed busy serving up good food that kept the energy high and the coffee flowing.

The highlight of the day was an absolute "Jurassic Park" run. The "dinosaurs" were out in full force—with the sturgeon bite cranking up so fast it was all people could do to keep their reels turning. It was a prehistoric-level frenzy that had every rod on the rail doubled over!
