25 anglers, sunny skies and flat seas. The captain started fishing a little deeper than normal for shallow water Monday to target some reds he had metered, which payed off with limits of reds for the boat. Shallow water bite didn't really take off, but we banged out handfuls of canary's and gophers and blues for our anglers. Simple, small setups seem to be the key on these local trips, with larger, more elaborate lures striking our 9 out of 10

The trips big excitement came from deckhand Weston who came to fish on his day off and threw a micro jig on his 500 series spinner loaded with 6lb braid and his trout rod, and 15 minutes later finished his fight with a meaty ling cod who lost the round lol
